Position Summary
The Bookkeeper will play a key role in managing client financial records, maintaining accurate bookkeeping systems, and supporting overall accounting operations. The ideal candidate will have strong QuickBooks experience, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work independently while managing multiple client accounts.
This position reports directly to the Owner and works closely with the team to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting and client support.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage client financial accounts and maintain accurate transaction records
- Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with accounting principles
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Manage client billing and invoicing
- Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations
- Maintain organized and accurate financial documentation
- Support clients with budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
- Provide ongoing client support by answering accounting and financial questions
- Maintain and update client QuickBooks files with accurate data entry and reporting
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient and timely accounting operations
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and applicable regulations
- Stay current on accounting best practices and industry updates
- Assist with special projects and administrative accounting tasks as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- Minimum of 2+ years of bookkeeping experience preferred
- Strong understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles
- Proficiency in QuickBooks is required
- Experience with financial reporting and account reconciliations
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work independently
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience working in a boutique or small accounting firm is a plus
Preferred Skills
- Payroll processing experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial software tools
- Experience supporting audits or audit preparation
- Client-facing communication experience
